Man Utd urged to follow simple Sir Alex Ferguson advice in RB Leipzig clash

Manchester United have been urged to follow the one word advice of the club's legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson when they take the field against RB Leipzig on Wednesday - concentrate.

The Red Devils host the Bundesliga outfit in the second round of group stage fixtures having earned a decent win away at PSG last week.

Victory over Leipzig would put United firmly in command of Group H - widely regarded as this season's 'Group of Death'.

And former United striker Dimitar Berbatov feels the current crop of stars could do a lot worse than listen to the nugget of advice Fergie offered to his players before their European clashes.

“The Bundesliga cannot be underestimated and for sure United must be careful going into tonight’s game against RB Leipzig," Berbatov told United Review.

“On Champions League nights, I always think back to Sir Alex and the one word he would tell us when we were going out of the dressing room: concentration. Everybody would get a high-five and a reminder of that word.

“Concentration is key on big nights like this when there is no margin for error, so everybody in a United shirt will need to be focused for the entire night in order to get a big, important result."

Berbatov hailed United's approach to the win over PSG as "spot-on", but warned his old club they must deliver a similar level of performance if they are to beat last season's semi-finalists.

And the Bulgarian's former teammate, Rio Ferdinand, still feels qualification for the knockout phase may be the best United can hope for in the competition.

Doubling down on his comments to BT Sport last week, Ferdinand said on Tuesday: "I don't think Manchester United are one of the teams we could put as favourites.

"I think they will do well to get out of the group. Consistency is the key for United and improving."
