Erling Haaland has a verbal agreement to leave Borussia Dortmund according to reports in Spain.
The Borussia Dortmund striker has spent less than a year at the German club following his move in January.
But he can seek pastures new in 2022 as per an agreement between his agent Mino Raiola and the Bundesliga outfit.
Manchester United are one of the clubs chasing Haaland's signature having been keen on signing him before he joined Dortmund.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer worked with the striker when the pair were both at Norwegian side Molde.
United thought they had won the race for his signature back in January after Haaland had burst onto the scene with Red Bull Salzburg.
United though are not the only European heavyweight interested in the 20-year-old with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also tracking the striker.
Los Blancos are thought to be at the head of the queue, according to AS.
Dortmund are thought to have a very good relationship with Madrid which would strengthen their hand in the transfer market.
Haaland also favours a switch to the Bernabeu which leaves United with ground to make up.
The young striker has proven his appetite for goals and this week scored a brace for Dortmund in the Champions League against Club Brugge.
It was his 14th goal in the competition despite only playing 11 times.
This term he has scored five goals in as many outings having notched 16 times last term despite only playing for half the season.
His goalscoring exploits mean he remains firmly on United's radar despite the mounting competition for him.
The Red Devils have held discussions with Dortmund recently as they tried and failed to sign Jadon Sancho in the summer.
