Man Utd transfer target Christian Eriksen has price tag slashed by staggering £50m

Christian Eriksen is available for a staggering £50million less than Tottenham's original asking price.

But Manchester United want to pay even less than this for the midfielder as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to wrap up his transfer business before the window closes.

Eriksen made it clear he wants a new challenge earlier in the window, prompting Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino to splash the cash on Tanguy Ndombele and consider a loan move for Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho.

Eriksen is in the final year of his contract, and there are fears in north London that if Tottenham fail to sell him this summer he could walk away on a free next July.

As a result Spurs have slashed their asking price for Eriksen from £130million to just £70million - but United are looking to land the Dane for even less.

The Red Devils have already parted with some serious money this summer landing Aaron-Wan Bissaka, Daniel James and Harry Maguire for a combined £148million.

They are looking to pick up Eriksen for £50million, and are hoping they can bully Daniel Levy into lowering his price for the midfielder, given his contract situation.

Spurs are also in the market for a new striker before the window closes in two days and have had a £62million bid for Paulo Dybala accepted by Juventus, according to Sky Sports Italia.

The Argentina international had been linked with a move to Manchester United but was unable to reach an agreement over his wage demands.
