Man Utd transfer round-up: Sancho complication as Mendes breaks silence

Manchester United are set to go all out to improve Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad this summer, with Jadon Sancho, Harry Kane, Raphael Varane and Pau Torres all on the club's radar.

The summer transfer window will be their first with a director of football, with John Murtough set to play a huge role in their activity.

The former academy chief is set to work alongside vice-chairman Ed Woodward, who will leave his role at the end of the year.

Reports suggest club chiefs have already agreed personal terms with Sancho over a move, with just a transfer fee to be agreed.

Here are today's latest United transfer rumours.

Chelsea's Sancho stance

Sancho is believed to be United's top target this summer, but the Red Devils could end up losing out to Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The newly-crowned Champions of Europe, who Sancho supported as a child, are reportedly interested in making a move involving Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Chelsea winger doesn't seem to have much of a future at Stamford Bridge, and it's said that Chelsea could be willing to part ways with him in order to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

Nuno Mendes makes transfer comment

Nuno Mendes has been linked with both Manchester United and Manchester City (GETTY)

Sporting Lisbon left-back Nuno Mendes has been linked with both United and City this summer, and now the defender has opened up on the speculation.

Mendes said “I’m only focused on Sporting, these things I leave with my agent“, Mendes told Portuguese television channel RTP3.

He then added: "“There are things that are true and false [about interest from European clubs], now I’m focused on Sporting and now on the European Championship.“

Donny van de Beek talks

United are set to hold talks with Donny van de Beek over his future at the club this summer after a nightmare debut campaign.

The midfielder has only started four Premier League games since he joined from Ajax in a £40.5m deal last year.

And Van de Beek will apparently hold talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this summer over his plans for next season.
