Man Utd transfer round-up: Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek exit opportunities emerge

Manchester United returned to winning ways on Saturday with a much-needed 3-0 Premier League victor y against Tottenham.

Before the game, many feared manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would get the sack if the Red Devils weren't victorious in North London.

Yet it was Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo who was relieved of his duties, with Solskjaer restoring confidence in his United regime.

The Norwegian may even still be charge in two months' time when the January transfer window opens, although it's still a bit too early to tell.

Here, Mirror Football takes a look at the latest transfer rumours dominating the press and, unsurprisingly, there is a Donny van de Beek update.

Cash-strapped Barcelona are interested in signing out-of-favour midfielder Van de Beek on loan in January, according to Spanish outlet SPORT.

The Dutchman, 24, has made just four Premier League starts since joining United from Ajax 13 months ago, despite being fit for most of that time.

Van de Beek is thought to have hired Ali Dursun, who represents Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong, as his agent to manufacture a way out of Manchester.

Rumours suggest the deal would include a clause to sign the 19-cap international permanently as Barcelona cannot afford to pay a transfer fee.

Van de Beek has also been linked with Everton in recent months after the club's director of football, Marcel Brands, confirmed their interest.

Another Leicester defender?

United have already signed one Leicester defender in recent years, Harry Maguire, and reports claim they could be after Caglar Soyuncu in January.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes.Net, the Red Devils are interested in adding the Turkey international, 25, to their faltering back line.

Soyuncu has been outstanding in Leicester's defence since Maguire's move to Old Trafford, earning a spot in the PFA's Premier League Team of the Year in 2019-20.

The good news for interested parties is the defender's existing deal, which expires in June 2023. The Foxes will be keen to extend that as soon as possible.

United are also believed to be keen on another Leicester player - midfielder Youri Tielemans, 24 - who also has less than two years remaining on his contract.

It's believed Real are growing increasingly confident of completing a deal for Pogba, while moves to Paris Saint-Germain and former club Juventus have also been rumoured.
