Man Utd transfer round-up: Mino Raiola's Erling Haaland plan, Kalvin Phillips' exit stance

Man Utd's transfer strategy was unable to help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lead them to glory.

The now axed Norwegian was able to bring several big names to Old Trafford with a clear blueprint in place for recruitment, but with his departure it could all change.

Ralf Rangnick is now making the calls and will take up an advisory role once he leaves the dugout.

He has said that January transfers are "unsustainable" so any major new faces may well come in when the summer transfer window opens.

The German has a relationship with Erling Haaland, but has denied there is a bonus in his contract for signing the striker.

Midfield has also been pinpointed as a problem area for the Red Devils.

Here are the latest transfer rumours coming out of Old Trafford.

Raiola's Haaland plans

Haaland's agent Mino Raiola insists he has "clear ideas" about where the striker will be playing his football beyond this season.

United were heavily linked with the Norwegian when he left RB Salzburg back in January 2020.

However they have had their issues with Raiola, who is also Paul Pogba's agent, which could influence whether or not they pursue Haaland.

The super agent told SPORT1: "We have clear ideas about where Erling should go and, of course, we look at what the market has to offer.

"I would be a bad advisor if I didn't. We can influence the market with a player like Erl. We are not influenced by the market. We know this.

"Maybe the sports directors hate me. I don't hate anyone myself. I just do my job. And I like to cross borders."

Trippier open to return

Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Tripper is keen on making a return to the Premier League, reports 90min .

The England defender moved to the Spanish capital back in 2019 and has helped Diego Simeone's team win LaLiga.

He continues to be part of Gareth Southgate's plans with the Three Lions and is on the radar of several English clubs.

United were open to signing Trippier back in the summer, but no deal could be struck with Atletico.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot have both been used by Rangnick so far in his tenure, but the club could yet renew their interest.

Phillips to reject move

Kalvin Phillips' loyalty to Leeds will see him snub any advances from the Red Devils, reports The Sun .

Instead the midfielder will hold out for a move to Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp weighing up his midfield options.

Phillips has enjoyed a rapid rise under the watchful eye of Marcelo Bielsa this term and is now a fixture with England.

Leeds tied him down recently to a new deal, but admirers could still test the resolve of the Yorkshire side.

A big-money bid could force the Whites into a corner.
