Manchester United are only three games into the Ralf Rangnick era, but already the German is beginning to ponder transfers.
There are just three weeks to go until the January transfer window opens and United appear likely to be busy, with both incomings and outgoings possible.
“We need to make sure that players want to stay here,” Rangnick said this week.
“If they see not getting enough game time here, it might make sense to speak individually with the players to see if a loan deal might make sense.”
If United can offload some of those fringe players, then it may allow them to bring in new faces, with central midfield a particular area of interest for the club.
With that in mind let Mirror Football take you through the latest transfer rumours involving United.
Lingard race hotting up

Jesse Lingard is one of those players Rangnick was referring to: he has not played much football so far this season and is out of contract in the summer.
West Ham ’s interest in Lingard is nothing new. David Moyes has been keen to sign the midfielder ever since his impressive loan spell with the Hammers in the second half of last season.
Eurosport now reports that club insiders are confident they can get a deal over the line for the 28-year-old, whose status at United hasn’t changed since Rangnick’s arrival.
West Ham intend to open discussions as soon as the January window opens, but they face competition from Newcastle.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that the Magpies are ‘seriously interested’ in signing Lingard and have already made contact with his camp. The race is on.
Barca set Dest price tag

United spent much of the summer pursuing Kieran Trippier, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to get back-up for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at right-back.
The club were eventually put off Trippier by Atletico Madrid’s asking price and Diogo Dalot has performed the role as Wan-Bissaka’s deputy.
But the interest in signing a right-back has not faded, according to El Nacional , who report that Barcelona ’s Sergino Dest is an option for them.
Marca say Dest is already planning his Barca exit and El Nacional name Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool as potential destinations.
Barcelona reportedly want to recoup £25million (€30m) for the 21-year-old USA international, who they paid Ajax for £24m in October 2020.

Amad set for January loan

Amad started for United in their 1-1 draw with Young Boys on Wednesday, but it seems unlikely that will become a regular occurrence.
The fierce competition for forward places in Rangnick’s side means the 19-year-old is set to be loaned out in January.
Feyenoord wanted to sign him in the summer, but a late injury saw the move collapse.
He will get another chance in January and the Daily Mail cite the Dutch side, as well as his former club Ataltanta and Crystal Palace as options.
Amad is keen to leave Old Trafford in search of regular game time, having played just nine times for United since joining for £37m in January.
