Man Utd transfer round-up: Fresh Frenkie De Jong decision made as Inter Milan plot swoop

Manchester United have just two days remaining to rubber-stamp their transfer business.

The January window slams shut late on Tuesday night with the Red Devils have already completed two winter deals. Jack Butland and Wout Weghorst have been signed from Crystal Palace and Burnley respectively on loan deals until the end of the campaign.

It remains to be seen if there are any further additions before the window closes. A number of players continue to be linked with a move to Old Trafford though.

With that being said, take a look at the latest transfer rumours relating to United with just under 48 hours to go of the current window:

Reds renew De Jong interest

One of the names most strongly linked with a move to Manchester United immediately after the arrival of Erik ten Hag was Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. The Red Devils were in talks with the Spanish side for an extended period but failed to agree a deal.

They eventually turned to former Real Madrid star Casemiro - the Brazilian having enjoyed an excellent impact following his £60m switch. That has not totally ended the Red Devils’ interest in De Jong.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Ten Hag is ‘open’ to a second pursuit of the Dutchman with another midfielder featuring high up on the club’s shopping list. It is said that Jude Bellingham is also being considered with United having previously been beaten to his services by Borussia Dortmund.

Lindelof ‘considered’ by Inter Milan

After falling down the pecking order this season, Victor Lindelof could potentially be on his way out of Old Trafford over the closing days of the transfer window. According to Gianluca di Marzio, the Italian giants have the Swede among a handful of options they could make a move for in an attempt to find a replacement for Milan Skriniar.

The Serb is set to become a PSG player come the end of the campaign, with the French giants aiming to secure his services earlier. Inter are considering a loan offer for Lindelof - a deal that would not tempt United.

Lille’s Tiago Djalo and former Man Utd defender Chris Smalling are also being eyed should they fail in their attempts to sign Lindelof before the end of the month.

Palace willing to wait for Wan-Bissaka

Crystal Palace are reportedly willing to bide their time with a move for United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The right-back was linked with a move away from the club earlier in the window but has re-established himself in the side under Erik ten Hag since.

According to The Sun, the defender’s former side Crystal Palace remain interested in his services but would be willing to wait until the summer to pursue him. Meanwhile, Patrick Vieira’s side would also be aiming to seal a deal for former loan star Conor Gallagher in a few months’ time.
