Man Utd transfer round-up: Donny van de Beek considers exit, Ousmane Dembele plan

Manchester United's credentials are again being questioned after their latest setback.

The Red Devils were beaten by Wolves at Old Trafford with their performance exposing their flaws once more.

Ralf Rangnick is early into his tenure but thus far his methods have had little impact with United trailing their top four rivals.

The German is renowned for his shrewd recruitment and will be hoping to continue that trend in Manchester.

United invested heavily in the summer but still have areas of the squad that need strengthening, with central midfield among them.

Rangnick also inherited a large squad, which inevitably means certain individuals have been overlooked and are considering their futures.

We bring you the latest transfer rumours from Old Trafford.

Van de Beek weighs up January exit

Donny van de Beek is considering his January options as minutes continue to be at a premium, reports ESPN

Rangnick has assured the Dutchman that opportunities will come his way having only taken over recently.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed Van de Beek but rarely used him which has led to increased frustration.

The former Ajax man is conscious that this winter's World Cup is less than a year away and needs minutes if he is to play a central role for his country.

January's transfer window could offer him a route out of Old Trafford and he is mulling over whether to force an exit.

Utd's Dembele offer

United are ready to cough up a fee to win the race to sign Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele, according to Sport.

The Frenchman is out of contract and his future at the Nou Camp remains uncertain with several clubs circling.

Should Dembele reject Barcelona's next offer then the Red Devils could look to take advantage of the situation.

They are willing to pay cash and loan Anthony Martial to the Catalans for the remainder of the season, without demanding any wages for the wantaway star.

Liverpool are among those also linked with Dembele, whose time in Spain has been hampered by injuries.

Mengi leaves on loan

Teden Mengi has opted to leave Manchester temporarily in search of more game time.

The teenager has struggled for minutes at Old Trafford and is looking to continue his development in England's second tier.

Mengi has followed Tahith Chong to Birmingham City as he looks to show Rangnick what he is capable of moving forward.

He will remain at the Blues until the end of the current campaign.

The player said: “It was important for me to try and find what was best for me, which is here at Blues and to just kick on and get as many games under my belt and improve as much as I can as a player and as a person."
