Manchester United may have agreed a fee to sign Brazil international and five-time Champions League winner Casemiro from Real Madrid over the weekend, but a number signings are still to be expected as they go in search of further reinforcements.
And on the same day that it was revealed United had agreed personal terms with PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo, it was also reported that the Red Devils had achieved the same feat with Ajax forward Antony. United ‘reach agreement’ with Antony
In what could finally be the biggest breakthrough yet with regards to signing Ajax winger Antony this summer, United are said to have ‘reached an agreement’ with the Brazilian ahead of a potential move to Old Trafford.
That’s according to Journal O Globo, who have claimed that everything ‘is fine’ between both United and the Brazil international, while the Red Devils are also prepared to now pay a huge £80m to land one of their top targets this month.
Antony has been linked with a move to Old Trafford ever since former Ajax manager Ten Hag took over at the club at the end of last season, following 12 goals and 10 assists in all competitions, while he already has two goals and two assists in three games this campaign.

Offer ‘tabled’ for Kevin Trapp
United are still on the lookout for a back-up goalkeeper this summer after allowing Dean Henderson to join Nottingham Forest on loan for the current campaign, leaving just Tom Heaton as the only senior shot-stopper behind current no.1 David de Gea.
And according to the latest report by German outlet Bild, the Red Devils have now ‘tabled’ an offer for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp, who helped the Bundesliga outfit to the Europa League title last season and made 46 appearances across all competitions for the club.
However, the report does not state how much United have offered to Frankfurt for Trapp, while it is also unclear as to how the Bundesliga side have reacted to the offer for their current no.1, who arrived from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019.
United ‘working on six deals’
It is set to be a huge end to the summer transfer window for United over the next week or so as they aim to land a whole host of transfer targets in order to further strengthen Erik ten Hag’s side for the remainder of the current campaign.
And according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, via his YouTube channel, United are ‘working on six deals’ as the clock continues to count down to deadline day, with only four signings being welcomed through the door over the past two months.
Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has recently joined Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez, but the Red Devils are still targeting another goalkeeper, right back and at least two attackers, while Cristiano Ronaldo ’s future is yet to be decided.
