Manchester United are hoping to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester before the transfer window closes in a deal that could see them break their transfer record again.
Leicester value the England international at an astonishing £90m and are refusing to budge on that price tag with less than two weeks of the transfer window remaining.
United remain locked in talks over Maguire, with executive vice chairman Ed Woodward determined to reach a breakthrough before the transfer deadline on August 8.
Should Leicester get their way, Maguire will replace Paul Pogba as the club’s most expensive signing of all time after his £89m arrival from Juventus in 2016.
