Man Utd transfer news: Red Devils 'open talks' over second Juventus star

Manchester United could be set to do plenty of business with Juventus over the summer.

Reports in Italy on Monday suggested they made contact with the Serie A side over a move for £85m move Paolo Dybala.

They are now preparing a swoop for team-mate Joao Cancelo, and have already opened talks with his agent, Jorge Mendes, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Cancelo was a target for the Red Devils last summer but ultimately opted to join the Bianconeri after a successful loan spell in Serie A with Inter Milan.

But he faded after a bright start to the season and could be allowed to leave the club for the right price with United still keen.

They have reportedly tabled an opening bid of €50m which has been rejected by Juventus - although Matteo Darmian could be offered as a direct replacement to bridge the shortfall in funds.

It is not the only swap deal touted to take place between the two sides, with Serie A-linked striker Romelu Lukaku being tipped to be part of a deal to land Paolo Dybala.

Darmian has barely featured for United this season, and despite being handed a surprise start in the recent Manchester derby the Italy full-back is expected to head back to his homeland.

Cancelo, 24, has 14 caps for Portugal and cost €40.4m when he made the move from Valencia last summer.

He has also been linked with a move to local rivals Manchester City as he looks increasingly likely to depart Turin.

The left-sided player is known for his ability as an attacking full-back and can be utilised in a more advanced role, much like Portuguese compatriot Diogo Dalot, who has shown his potential on the right.

United are targeting reinforcements across their defence as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eyes a summer rebuild after missing out on the Premier League top four.
