Man Utd transfer news: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 'identifies' Romelu Lukaku replacement

Manchester United are looking at Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.

The Belgian could leave Old Trafford this summer after emerging as a target for new Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte.

If the 26-year-old does make the switch to the San Siro, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will look to sign a new forward to replenish his striking options and ESPN claims that the Red Devils have identified Haller as an option.

However, it is claimed that United would only pursue a move for the Frankfurt striker if the Italian giants match their £80 million asking price for Lukaku.

According to the publication, the Premier League club sent scouts to watch Haller during Frankfurt's Europa League campaign, which saw the Bundesliga club reach the semi-finals before losing to Chelsea on penalties.

The 24-year-old, who played for Auxerre and Utrecht before joining the German club in 2017, scored 15 goals in 23 league starts last season as Frankfurt finished seventh in the Bundesliga.

Frankfurt have already lost one star player after Luka Jovic completed a move to Real Madrid on Tuesday.

Jovic has agreed a six-year deal with the Bernabeu club and arrives for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £60m.

Jovic joined Frankfurt on a two-year loan from Benfica in 2017 and enjoyed a fantastic campaign last term, finding the net 25 times in all competitions.

In April, the German side activated a clause in the Serbian's contract to sign the player on a permanent deal.

He will undergo a medical at the Bernabeu and is likely to come in as a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema.
