Man Utd transfer news: Declan Rice 'opening offer' launched by Red Devils

If speculation about Manchester United's opening offer for Declan Rice proves to be correct, you get the impression they will have to do a lot better.

The England midfielder has recently signed a new deal at the London Stadium.

He is contracted to the Hammers until 2024 , multiplying his £3,000-per-week earnings by ten.

But United are said to be ready to pounce already - and can treble his £30,000 weekly wage.

It has been claimed, though, that their initial bid for Rice stands at only €40million - less than £35m.

Manchester City are also keen on the 20-year-old and his club know that every player has his price.

His manager Manuel Pellegrini opened the door to a summer move but West Ham would laugh off any offer of that size.

Pellegrini said: “You never want to sell your good players but you understand that in some clubs, always there will be a deal.

“If the player wants to go, if the deal is very good for the player, if the deal is very good for this club and he can continue growing, it’s very difficult for you to keep the player.

“The important thing is Declan Rice is not thinking about going out of this team. He thinks to play here, and the future depends on so many things."

Rice says he wants to play in the biggest stage but explained to the MailOnline that he is in no hurry to leave East London.

"Growing up as a kid, when you become a professional footballer, you want to play at the highest level," he said.

"It's normal to like people saying nice things about you but I'm really happy playing at West Ham under the manager. I've got a special connection with the fans as well. I'm loving every minute of it."

Meanwhile, Hirving Lozano 'dreams' of a move to Manchester United .

That is according to the president of the player's former club Pachuca - Jesus Martinez says the PSV Eindhoven winger would jump at the chance to sign.
