Man Utd transfer 'expected to accelerate' Samba exit amid 'advanced negotiations'

Nottingham Forest are reportedly in 'advanced negotiations' with Lens as goalkeeper Brice Samba readies to return to France this summer.

The 28-year-old has just 12 months remaining on his current contract at the City Ground, and talks over a new deal have stalled. The Reds insist that an extension has been offered with the idea that he would stay, but Samba is equally saif to be ready to return to the continent.

Forest signed the goalkeeper from Normandy-based Caen for an undisclosed fee in 2019. Samba, a former France under-19 international, had previously spent spells at Marseille and Le Havre as well as loans at Nancy.

Reports from Sky Sports now suggest a fifth French club, Lens, are in 'advanced negotiations' over a move for the goalkeeper. The side from northern France finished 7th in Ligue 1 last season, missing out on a Europa Conference League play-off spot by just four points.

They also report that Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson 'has signed' on a season-long loan. This imminent arrival is 'expected to accelerate' a departure for Samba after three seasons at the City Ground and more than 130 appearances between the posts.
