Man Utd told to sign ex-Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey as price named for 'perfect' transfer

Manchester United should go all out for Wales and Juventus star Aaron Ramsey.

That's the view of talkSPORT pundit and Times columnist Tony Cascarino, who believes the former Arsenal man would be perfect at Old Trafford.

Italian reports that the Turin-based side are looking to cash in on Ramsey, who signed for the club on a free last January.

United tracked Ramsey closely when he was at Cardiff City, and thought they had a deal over the line for the-then teenager. But the announcement on their website was premature, and Ramsey eventually signed for Arsene Wenger's Gunners in the summer of 2008.

The Welshman has struggled to nail down a place in the Old Lady's starting XI this season, and rumours have circulated about a possible sale this summer.

Cascarino wrote in his  Times column: "Ramsey would be the perfect fit for United.

"Ramsey played in Juventus' defeat away to Verona on Saturday but it was fairly typical of his first season in Italy as he came on as a substitute and didn't have an impact on the game.

"I can see the former Arsenal man back in the Premier League next season.

"Reports linking him to Manchester United make a lot of sense as he is the sort of player they need – a proven midfielder with goalscoring pedigree and plenty of Premier League experience.

"I could see him not costing too much, with Juventus possibly settling for £20million as that would get them most of their outlay back."
