Man Utd to pull off quadruple deadline day signing as 'new Messi' holds talks, Celtic in for Liverpool star and Leeds miss out on Wales winger

Here's your roundup of all the Premier League news and rumours on transfer deadline day.

Man Utd to sign four

Manchester United are closing in on a stunning deadline day quadruple signing.

The Manchester Evening News report deals for full-back Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani are all but done, with two more signings potentially arriving at Old Trafford before 11pm tonight.

Those two additional players are Atalanta wonderkid Amad Traore and 18-year-old Penarol winger Facundo Pellistri.

Cavani and Telles have had their medicals and will be announced shortly.

Traore, 18, has previously been compared to Lionel Messi by team-mate Papu Gomez in the way he plays the game. The Daily Star say the agreed fee will be £27m.

Southampton in Theo Walcott talks

Southampton are in talks with Everton over a possible loan deal for winger Theo Walcott, according to the Daily Mail .

Walcott started his career at St Mary’s, making his debut as a 16-year-old before moving to Arsenal.

He has made just one substitute appearance in the Premier League this season and could move to Southampton in search for more game time.

Tottenham make last Skriniar effort

Tottenham are ready to make a late effort for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar, according to the Mirror .

The Serie A side are said to be looking for a price of around £45 million for the player but could reduce that price in order to cut the wage bill.

Harry Wilson to Celtic?

Scottish champions Celtic are weighing up a possible loan move for Liverpool winger Harry Wilson.

The Scottish Sun claims the Hoops have checked into the availability of the 23-year old, after the player's proposed move to Burnley collapsed.

The Reds appear to be open to letting Wilson go before the close of the transfer window, but the Clarets were seemingly unwilling to meet the club's £15m price tag.

Liverpool are believed to prefer a permanent departure for Wilson before the window closes, but there's seemingly no offers on the table for the Wales international.

Leeds United were among the other names believed to be keen, but appear to have cooled their interest and are instead closing in on a move for Rennes winger Raphinha.

Liverpool’s Gazzaniga stance

Liverpool will not be making a deadline day move for Tottenham goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.

It was reported that there had been contact between the two clubs after Adrian’s performance against Aston Villa, where he let in seven goals in the 7-2 defeat.

However, as reported by the Liverpool Echo , the Reds are unlikely to see any new players arrive at Anfield before the deadline.

Fulham make Loftus-cheek move

Fulham have made a late move for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, as reported by football.london .

Scott Parker’s side are keen to make new additions in order to turn around their early-season form.

It is claimed that Loftus-cheek is their number one midfield target, with Chelsea said to be open to letting the player go out on loan.

Dan James to stay at Manchester United

Dan James looks set to stay at Manchester United beyond the summer after Leeds United failed in a last-ditch attempt to take the midfielder to Elland Road.

According to BBC Sport , Leeds made a loan to buy offer for the Wales international but immediately saw it rejected by the Red Devils.
