Manchester United have qualified for the Champions League next season - and will now reap the financial rewards.
In addition to receiving TV money to feature in Europe's premier competition, and for finishing in a higher place in the league, the Red Devils' avoided a penalty clause.
The clause is contained within the club's 10-year kit deal - which worth a whopping £75million-a-year - with sportswear giants Adidas, and sees Man United incur a 30 per cent pay cut every time they fail to qualify for the Champions League for two successive seasons.
The huge cut would result in the Red Devils missing out on a huge £22.5million - and at a time when clubs are tightening their purse strings due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But by beating Leicester City on the final day of the Premier League season, United confirmed their place in next year's competition.
And the good news doesn't stop there.
There is much money to be made from performing well in Europe, with last season's winners Liverpool earning a staggering £100.87million, according to ESPN.
Champions League qualification has also gone a long way to securing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's position as Manchester United boss.
There were question marks over the Norwegian early on in the season as United looked unlikely to qualify.
But Solskjaer - buoyed by the signing of Bruno Fernandes - rallied his troops and secured an impressive third-place finish.
