Manchester United are ready to reinvest the money they obtain from the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan to sign £50million Bournemouth star David Brooks, according to reports.
Lukaku has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford and is in talks with Inter over a summer switch, where he will link up with former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
The Sun is reporting that the Belgian has agreed terms on a £180,000-a-week contract, which is the same as what he'd be earning if he stayed at United due to every player's wages being slashed for failing to qualify for the Champions League.
All that is holding up the deal is the two clubs agreeing on a transfer fee, but the paper adds that United would be prepared to take £75million for the forward - the price they paid Everton for Lukaku back in 2017.
Brooks is a boyhood Manchester United fan and open to the idea of playing for the Red Devils.
But the Cherries are not keen on losing their star asset and will demand a transfer fee of around £50million before they would even consider selling the 21-year-old.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a slow start in the transfer window, signing only Daniel James from Swansea for £18million.
But things have started to pick up in recent weeks, with the club reportedly agreeing terms with Crystal Palace for the £55million signing of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
