Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has advised the club to target Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani and Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly this summer.
Cavani, 33, is a free agent after his contract with PSG expired, while Koulibaly is one of the most highly-sought after defenders in Europe following his superb displays in Serie A.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is known to be keen to strengthen his squad ahead of next season, with the likes of Dortmund star Jadon Sancho and Aston Villa's Jack Grealish in his sights.
But speaking to the Football Index Podcast Saha suggested Cavani could be a much cheaper alternative to bolster the Red Devils' attack.

"I think Manchester United are missing a trick by not signing Edinson Cavani this summer," Saha said. "I've followed him for many years and I’m gutted there doesn’t seem to be an interest there.
"For me, Cavani would be the best fit this summer. Cavani has a great eye for goal and his leadership would be a great asset. He has qualities that are very difficult to find on the transfer market."
Saha does not think the centre-back position is such a worry for United, but believes Koulibaly - who has also been linked with Manchester City - would be the clear best option.
"I’m a big fan of (Victor) Lindelof," he continued. "He made a mistake against Sevilla, but otherwise I think he has been very consistent and a good partner for Harry Maguire this season.
"If Manchester United are to look at a new central defender, Koulibaly is the obvious choice. I’m a big fan of his as he’s so strong and composed. He’s also an aerial threat in the opposition box. The more players of his stature at Old Trafford, the better."
