Man Utd tipped to make £30m signing before second deadline as Tottenham continue Joe Rodon chase and Arsenal star to leave

Here's the latest Premier League transfer news and rumours on Tuesday, October 6.

Spurs continue Rodon chase

Tottenham Hotspur are set to continue their chase of Swansea City defender Joe Rodon.

Spurs’ bid for the centre-back on transfer deadline day was said to be half of what the Swans value the 22-year-old at.

Yet Tottenham continue to look for a defender after failing to land Milan Skriniar and Antonio Rudiger.

That means they will look to take advantage of the extended domestic deadline to try and seal a deal for Rodon.

You can catch up with the latest here.

Man Utd still tipped to sign Sarr

Manchester United could still sign £30m Watford winger Ismaila Sarr in the next 10 days, according to reports.

United made a late push to sign the Senegalese forward on deadline day, hoping to agree a season-long loan deal that would become permanent next summer.

That was refused before the international window closed, however, there is still a chance he could be on the move, with the domestic window open until October 16.

Liverpool are also long-time admirers of Sarr, but United are still favourites as things stand. They won't be able to include him in their Champions League squad, though, unless they sign him by 11pm tonight when it has to be submitted.

Saliba could move to the Championship

BT Sport report that Arsenal’s William Saliba could well move to a Championship club on loan after a deadline day return to Saint-Etienne fell through.

Big things were tipped of the centre-back when he finally made his move to the Emirates this summer after spending last season on loan at his boyhood club.

Yet he is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Gunners this season and he almost returned to Saint-Etienne on Monday.

With that deal having failed to go through before the transfer deadline, he could well move to the second tier for more first-team experience.

Why United opted against Sancho

The MEN report that Manchester United opted against meeting Borussia Dortmund’s asking price for Jadon Sancho due to concerns about the overall cost of the deal for the young England starlet.

Sancho was United’s top target going into the transfer window but he stayed with the Bundesliga club due to their asking price of €120million.

Dortmund were unwilling to accept a lower up-front fee with add-ons, and United opted against meeting their asking price due to the substantial player and agent fees associated with the deal.

Rashica stays put

Birmingham Live report that Aston Villa, Leeds United and Southampton target Milot Rashica stayed put at Werder Bremen due to no club meeting his asking price.

Bayer Leverkusen were in talks with Werder Bremen up until the 5pm Bundesliga deadline but no deal could be struck.

Villa had previously been in advanced negotiations with the player but failed to agree personal terms.

Bremen sporting director Frank Baumann said there were no acceptable offers for the player in the window.

"In the last few days there has been interest from various clubs from home and abroad," he said.

"There have been talks since noon today, but we didn't want to sell the player below its value.

“They were complex negotiations, in the end without an agreement."

West Ham turn attentions to Dawson

The Standard report that West Ham have turned their attentions to Watford defender Craig Dawson after failing to get a deadline day move for Fikayo Tomori across the line.

Chelsea had agreed to send Tomori on loan to the Hammers after the Blues opted to keep Antonio Rudiger at Stamford Bridge.

Yet Tomori opted against the move, leaving West Ham still on the lookout for a centre-back.

Watford are said to be keen to get Dawson’s wages off of their books, meaning the extended domestic window could come in handy for the Hammers.
