Man Utd target Matthijs De Ligt's 10-word response to transfer interest in him

Matthijs de Ligt says he's flattered by the transfer interest being shown in him as he weighs up his options ahead of a summer switch.

The teenager has attracted serious attention from around the globe after he lead Ajax to Eredivisie success and the semi-final of the Champions League this season.

Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are the two favourites to secure the youngster's signature.

The Catalan giants have reportedly spoken to the player's representatives, and have also secured the signing of his former team-mate Frenkie de Jong.

Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain's sporting director has a good relationship with De Ligt's agent Mino Raiola, which gives them a slight advatange.

Manchester United have been linked with the player in recent months but remain outsiders to secure his signature.

The Red Devils do have the money to complete the deal, and can offer the youngster regular first-team football, which De Ligt admits is a deciding factor for him.

But United cannot offer the Dutchman the opportunity to play in the Champions League, nor the chance to challenge for the title in his first season.

De Ligt was recently asked about the transfer interest being shown in him and made it clear he's not found it to be a distraction.

In fact it appears the Holland international is rather relishing the attention he is being shown by the world's best teams.

Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, De Ligt said: "For me it is a great honor and a compliment."

On looking ahead at his future, he added: "I still do not know what my heart says, I have been concentrated all the time in Ajax and in the national team.

"Now in my vacations I will be able to think about it and decide what I am going to do with my future."
