Man Utd target James Maddison 'makes transfer decision' amid increasing interest

Manchester United target James Maddison has reportedly told Leicester he wants to stay at the club despite transfer interest.

Maddison has emerged as a transfer priority for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he looks to strengthen his Red Devils side this summer.

Liverpool , Manchester City and Tottenham are also eyeing a £60m move for the England Under 21 star, who enjoyed an impressive first Premier League season with the Foxes.

But according to The Sun , the creative midfielder has told chiefs at the King Power Stadium he is happy at the club and does not want to leave just 12 months after arriving in a summer switch from Norwich.

Maddison created more goalscoring chances than any other player in the top flight last season and bagged seven goals.

He was also handed a first England senior call-up in October and will head to the European Championships with the Under 21s this summer.

With mounting speculation over his future, he is reportedly relaxed and would even consider extending his current four-year deal at Leicester having been impressed by the impact of new boss Brendan Rodgers.

He could be in line for a big-money new deal to increase his £50,000-per-week wages and move him more in line with top earners Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire at the club.

Maddison's creativity and age mean he fits the bill for Solskjaer's rebuild after a miserable season during which they missed out on the Premier League top four.

United are closing in on the signing of Daniel James from Swansea after he left the Wales camp to undergo at medical at Carrington on Thursday.

But it seems the Red Devils may miss out on Maddison, whilst they are also facing competition from Spurs and Liverpool in the battle for Portuguese creative midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
