Man Utd target Frenkie de Jong among four players Barcelona insist are "not for sale"

Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong is one of four Barcelona stars who aren't for sale this month, according to club president Joan Laporta.

The 25-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer and it has been reported that the Red Devils could reignite their interest in the midfielder. De Jong has made 18 appearances for Barca this season and also impressed at the World Cup for Netherlands, starting in each of their five games at the tournament.

However, Laporta has confirmed that De Jong has "significant value" and is "not for sale", while the same applies for Marc Andre Ter Stegen. Speaking to Cadena SER on Thursday, Laporta said: "Ter Stegen and De Jong? We are very happy with both. None are for sale. Frenkie has significant value, several clubs are interested in him, but he is not for sale."

Will Ousmane Dembele sign a new contract at Barcelona? Let us know in the comments below!

Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele is another player who Laporta spoke about and Barcelona have no plans to sell him either despite having just six months left on his current deal. The Frenchman made the €145million move to Barca in the summer of 2017 but has scored just 38 times in 172 matches.

Paris Saint-Germain are keen to sign the winger with Lionel Messi out of contract in the summer, too, but Laporta has reiterated his desire to keep him at the club. Dembele has been much improved in recent weeks and scored a sensational goal in Barcelona's 4-3 win over Intercity in the Copa del Rey.

Laporta added: "He is not for sale. At the right time we will come to his renewal, he is one of the most important players on the team. He is one of the cornerstones. Whenever he plays, he creates space. Yesterday he scored a magnificent goal.

Ansu Fati was the last player Laporta commented on, with the Spaniard struggling for form at the moment, having scored just three times in 15 matches this season. But Fati has started just four games and has been behind Ferran Torres, Raphinha and Dembele in the pecking order after a long injury lay-off last season.

He continued: "There is no one from the first team for sale. Not Ansu Fati nor anyone else."
