Man Utd target Declan Rice 'does not believe it's the right time' to make transfer

Manchester United target Declan Rice does not believe it is the right time to make the move to Old Trafford, according to reports.

West Ham midfielder Rice has been linked with a move to the Red Devils after impressing for the Hammers in 2018-19.

Both he and Irons teammate Issa Diop are on United's radar as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer bids to breathe fresh life into his side ahead of the new campaign.

But, according to The Independent, Rice has misgivings about making the move at this point in his career, due to the current state of the squad.

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho snubbed a potential move for similar reasons with United struggling to make top-quality additions.

They have so-far signed Daniel James from Swansea and are reported to have agreed a £55million fee with Crystal Palace for England Under-21s right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

It would represent a world-record fee for a full-back after the youngster's impressive season at Selhurst Park.

Rice made his Hammers debut in 2016-17 before going on to play 26 Premier League matches in the next season.

He played in 34 of West Ham's 38 matches in the league last term and has two goals to his name in 70 appearances in all competitions for the club so far.
