Man Utd 'submit transfer offer' to land French wonderkid amid legal dispute

Manchester United have made a bid to sign French wonderkid Hannibal Mejbri amid a legal dispute over his Monaco contract.

The 16-year-old wonderkid appealed to Ligue de Football Professionnel to have his contract terminated after receiving a big offer from the Red Devils.

He argued his first deal was not properly ratified due to him putting pen to paper when under the age of 15 - but RMC Sport report the lawsuit was rejected as Monaco cannot be penalised twice for the same offence.

They were already sanctioned over a different player in February, meaning United have offered a £3.5m sum to try and secure his signature.

According to Le Parisien , the Red Devils have submitted their official offer in a bid to fend off a growing list of interested parties which also features Lyon.

The attacking midfielder was the subject of a failed January bid from United, prompting his legal dispute amid claims a number of promises have been broken.

Monaco fought hard to sign Mejbri until 2021, with the teenager already a France Under 16 international considered a top prospect for the future.

Any deal taking him to Old Trafford would likely be delayed if his family challenge the LFP's decision regarding his current Monaco contract.

It seems a deal is not yet imminent, but the Red Devils have time on their side as they look to add one for the future to their youth ranks.
