Man Utd striker Romelu Lukaku joining Inter Milan would be 'a dream', says agent

Romelu Lukaku’s agent has confirmed Inter Milan’s interest in the Manchester United striker and says pulling off a deal would be "a dream".

The Belgian has struggled to make a real impact at Old Trafford since his £75million move from Everton two years ago and fell down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season.

The Norwegian manager is looking to add young, British talent to his squad this summer and said at the end of the season it could well be the last time some big players were seen in a United shirt.

Lukaku’s agent, Federico Pastorello, was in Milan on Tuesday to meet Inter and said, while it may be a difficult deal to pull off, the interest is certainly there.

“Yes, he’s publicly expressed his plans and desires,” he said. “We’ll see what happens.

“Lukaku [joining Inter] is a dream, a difficult one to make happen as such, but I believe nothing is impossible. It’s not impossible and Inter is trying hard.”

Inter chief Beppe Marotta insisted that the meeting surrounded the future of Edoardo Vergani, another client of Pastorello, but further confirmed the interest in Lukaku, who would be reunited with former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte should he make the move to Milan.

“We talked about Vergani [first] because his is a more urgent situation,” Marotta said.

“In the next few days, we’ll talk about the rest.” Pressed on Lukaku, he said: “It’s early.”
