Man Utd 'still want Ousmane Dembele deal' as they weigh up two transfer options

Manchester United remain keen on Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele after a move last summer failed to materialise.

The forward's time at the Nou Camp has been disrupted by injuries but he remains a quality player.

United were close to securing a loan switch only for the Spanish club to pull the plug on the deal when Dembele refused to sign a one-year extension.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has kept tabs on the Frenchman who has performed well in Catalunya this season.

The United boss is now weighing up how to approach the deal, reports Sport.

Dembele's contract at Barcelona will expire at the end of next season.

Solskjaer is therefore deciding whether to stump up a cash fee in order to secure his services in the summer.

Alternatively he could bide his time and look to sign Dembele on a free should he opt against extending his Barcelona stay.

The Frenchman moved to Spain in 2017 for an initial fee of £96m, with another £35m in potential add-ons.

His future remains uncertain now though as Ronald Koeman looks to assess his options with Barcelona in a transitional phase.

Reports in Spain claim new president Joan Laporte is desperate to retain Dembele, but his wage demands could be an issue.

United have remained in touch with Dembele's representatives, who know they are still keen on a move.

The Red Devils are expected to add a winger come the summer having failed to land Jadon Sancho last summer.

Borussia Dortmund are primed for bids and United are expected to return once more.

Kingsley Coman at Bayern Munich is another name to be linked with an Old Trafford switch.
