Manchester United have stepped up their interest in PSV Eindhoven's Hirving Lozano in a bid to hijack Napoli's move for the winger.
Mexico international Lozano, known as 'Chucky' has scored 19 goals and provided nine assists in 34 competitive games for PSV this season.
Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti had been tracking the winger and the Serie A club were believed to be offering €40m (around £34m) for the 23-year-old.
But according to Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, United have begun negotiations with agent Mino Raiola as they look to gazump the Italians, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking to build a squad that can challenge for the Premier League title next season.
Arsenal are also reportedly ready to make a bid for Lozano, who shot to prominence at the World Cup last summer and has been interesting Barcelona .

Chelsea are also said to be ready to talk - but they don't want to pay more than £32million - while Tottenham are also interested.
