Man Utd star 'lined up for transfer' if Harry Maguire completes switch

Eric Bailly could be on his way out of Manchester United this summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager to strengthen his backline with England international Harry Maguire his top target.

Reports emerged over the weekend that United had agreed an £80m deal with Leicester for Maguire, who is keen to move to Old Trafford.

They are believed to be wide of the mark with Leicester sticking to their £90m valuation for the former Sheffield United and Hull defender.

But if United can agree a deal for Maguire, it could pave the way for Bailly to leave the club.

Bailly cost United £30m when he arrived from Villarreal in 2016 but after a fine debut season, he has struggled with form and fitness.

Victor Lindelof established himself as first-choice defender last term and he is likely to be partnered by Maguire if his move goes through.

Phil Jones and Chris Smalling are other options and it appears Solskjaer would be willing to let Bailly depart.

Tuttosport reports Bailly is in AC Milan's thoughts as they look to strengthen their defence.

The Italian giants are keen on Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren but Jurgen Klopp is reluctant to lose him.

The Croatian would also have to take a hefty wage cut to move to Milan and they are weighing up a deal for Bailly.

He is expected to make his first appearance of pre-season in the friendly against Leeds in Perth on Wednesday.
