Man Utd star Jesse Lingard talks Milly Rock vs Arsenal and why it was a gamble

Jesse Lingard is known for his swagger on the football pitch almost as much as his strong play in a Manchester United shirt and nobody with a penchant for dancing will ever forget his Milly Rock celebration.

The Red Devils made it 2-0 at the Emirates inside eleven minutes back in December, 2017 when Lingard slotted home his first of the game and proceeded to provide a unique celebration.

United fans loved it and Arsenal supporters were naturally frustrated as Lingard produced what is now widely known as the Milly Rock, something which US rapper 2 Milly, aka Terrence Ferguson, created in 2011.

Lingard bagged another goal in the game as his side prevailed 3-1 but the encounter will always be remembered for the Milly Rock dance, with the 26-year-old opening up on the celebration and why it was a 'gamble' during an appearance on BT Sport's What I Wore.

Whilst speaking about some of the United away kits he's worn, Lingard explained: "These remind me of Arsenal.

"The Milly Rock shocked the world. Everyone was like, 'oh my god, I can't believe he's done that'.

"That was only at 2-0 so there was a chance we could have got beat. It was a bit risky but when it pays off...

"I was listening to the Playboi Carti song Magnolia before the game and I just thought, why not."
