Man Utd star hatches plan to keep Paul Pogba at the club

Manchester United's Andreas Pereira has joked that he'll take Paul Pogba's phone away from him in order to stop the Frenchman discussing a move away from the club.

Pogba continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford, with Real Madrid seemingly determined to take him to La Liga and Juventus also linked.

The World Cup winner went public with his desire to leave United in the summer, three years after he rejoined the club from Juventus in a then world record deal.

And Pereira says he's ready to take action in order to stop him leaving again.

“It is great [to train and play with him] - just in the group he is a great person,” he said from United's pre-season training base in Singapore.

"It will be very important if he stays with us. He is a very good player and a top-class as a person as well.

“I learn from him every day. He is one of my closest friends, I have been here with him since 16, so he is like family to me. I might have to steal his phone so he doesn’t speak to anyone!”

Pereira added that he's continuing to learn and grow at United, having improved since making a mistake in a game against Burnley last season.

“It was difficult but after the mistake, I was doing well,” he said.

“The manager spoke with me, I had to sit down, it was difficult for me but I came back with the goal against Southampton .

“I feel strong, I feel that I can step up. I feel that I have to take my chance now and I will be ready to take it this season. I have a lot more to show.”
