Man Utd star Daniel James slammed for diving after another yellow card but some fans call for it to be overturned

Wales winger Daniel James has once again come under fire for diving, after being booked in Manchester United's dramatic 2-1 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

On a rollercoaster afternoon in the Old Trafford sunshine, James later went on to net what he thought was a precious equaliser, after Marcus Rashford had previously failed to convert from the spot to cancel out Jordan Ayew's first-half opener.

However, United's joy at potentially salvaging a point was extinguished deep into stoppage time as Patrick van Aanholt netted to hand the Eagles all three points.

The result will undoubtedly lead to further scrutiny of United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, although he wasn't the only one to come in for some fierce criticism, with James' second yellow card for simulation in as many games causing a big stir on social media.

Wales boss Ryan Giggs defended James this week , adding that referees needed to do more to protect the 21-year old, who has otherwise enjoyed a pretty bright start to life at his new club.

Replays showed that there was contact made from Palace defender James McArthur, sparking plenty of debate over whether it was the correct decision.

One fan said: "Daniel James really has to sort himself out. This diving is becoming a very bad habit".

Another claimed: "Daniel James booked again for diving, two games in a row. Where has this come from? He never did it while with the Swans".

However, not everyone agreed with the decision, with a number of fans claiming it should have been reversed by VAR.
