Man Utd star Daniel James dwarfed by mascot ahead of Europa League clash and people are finding it very funny

Man Utd star Daniel James was hilariously dwarfed by a mascot ahead of a Europa League clash with AZ Alkmaar.

The 5ft 6ins Wales international was effectively hidden by the tall child after being paired up with the tallest mascot in the Netherlands.

Unsurprisingly, fans couldn't help but laugh at the situation.

One social media user said: "Daniel James was given the tallest mascot in United’s game against AZ Alkmaar tonight. You can hardly see him."

Another wrote: "Who ever assigned these mascots is a troll - legit gave Daniel James the tallest one."

A third added: "Awkward moment for Daniel James when the mascot is taller than the player... "

One even quipped that "James' team-mates definitely paid a 32-year-old to dress up like a mascot just to mess with him".

This isn't the first time James has had a funny moment involving mascots since arriving at the club this summer.

On the pitch however, it was an uneventful night - with James being replaced just after the hour mark in a 0-0 draw.
