Man Utd sent warning over Jack Grealish 'discipline' amid transfer interest

Former Leeds defender Danny Mills thinks Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish may lack the necessary discipline to play for Manchester United as speculation continues to grow over the 24-year-old's future.

Grealish has been superb so far this season, scoring seven goals and creating five assists in a struggling Villa side, and he is almost certain to move on if his boyhood club are relegated.

United have been one of the teams touted for his signature, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer vocal in his desire for another creative midfielder, but speaking to talkSPORT Mills said he was not sure a move to Old Trafford would work out.

"Because Villa have been poor and he (Grealish) is trying to carry them and keep them up and do everything he possibly can, that’s the only question, does he have that discipline? He probably does, but someone’s going to have to take a chance on him," Mills said.

"Jack Grealish has got all the ability in the world. He’s someone that carries the ball, runs at people and makes things happen.

"The only downside at the moment is because he’s in a struggling side, because he loves that club (Aston Villa) so much, he’s captain, he’s almost trying to do too much at times.

"Because he has to play that role for Villa, maybe one or two clubs are thinking ‘is he disciplined enough to play a certain role within the structure of my team’?"

Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for Grealish, who was on the brink of leaving Villa Park to join Tottenham in 2018 before he eventually stayed to help his side to promotion.

Villa lie just one point off the relegation zone, and face a tricky-looking game after the winter break when they host Spurs on February 16.
