The sale of Scott McTominay remains one of Manchester United's biggest mistakes in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
That's according to former United great, Teddy Sheringham, who insists that the signing of Antony for a whopping £86m was less of a mistake than McTominay's departure for Napoli last summer.
The Scotland international went on to prove his doubters wrong, by playing a crucial part in the Naples side winning Serie A.
He did so alongside his national team buddy Billy Gilmour.
"United selling Scott McTominay is a bigger mistake than signing Antony was," Sheringham told Snabbare. "This is what you have to understand when you're playing in the Premier League.
"It’s what it takes and what type of player is a leader on the pitch for you?
"When you look back over the last couple of decades, you look at the desire and the passion and the will to win, the desire to keep going when you have leaders like Roy Keane, Tony Adams, John Terry and Steven Gerrard.
"These are the real leaders that drag other players along on the pitch. Scott McTominay was one of those for me.
"He led by example. He had the desire. He had the passion. He had the technique as well to lead by example and drag other people along. That's what Manchester United are missing.
"You cannot just put eleven players out there, decent players, good players, honest, professional players. You still have to have leaders on the football pitch for teams like Manchester United and previously they've always had them.
"That's what's missing at the moment. McTominay was one of those. To sell him for peanuts and then look at where he's gone and what he's done.
"I'd love to meet Scott and take my hat off to him and applaud him for what he's done.
"To go to another country and do what he's done in his first season. Absolutely phenomenal."
