Manchester United are rumoured to be calm over Paul Pogba 's status at the club as speculation mounts over his future given his reluctance to extend his current contract.
The divisive French midfielder has entered the latter stages of his current deal, which is set to expire come the end of the season, yet neither the club nor the player seem to be in any great rush to address the situation.
Pogba is out of contract come the end of the campaign, meaning he - alongside his infamous agent Mino Raiola - is free to negotiate a pre-contractual agreement with foreign clubs from January 1.
Mirror Sport recently exclusively revealed that Man Utd want the uncertainty surrounding Pogba's future to be cleared up by Christmas at the latest.
This is due to the Old Trafford hierarchy wanting to know whether they should look to offload the France international in January, where they could still generate some cash for his services.
Pogba's situation is well-documented, meaning even if United were to sell him in January - the buying club are unlikely to fork out anything close to the £89m United paid Juventus for the midfielder back in 2016.
However, sources close to the club have told the MEN that United's status as one of the biggest clubs on the planet means they are accustomed to long-running transfer sagas and are not worried at this stage.
United's stunning transfer window performance earlier this year led some to believe Pogba could be convinced to stay - enticed by the idea of playing alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has explained how it is up to the entire squad to start delivering silverware and convincing Pogba that Old Trafford is the place to be for future success.
"It's up to us now to get results and to prove to ourselves we can win trophies," Solskjaer said.
"Everyone who signs for Man United wants to win trophies. To be a part of a winning Man United, it's the most magical feeling in the world.
"Everyone's just focusing on doing our best and let's see where we go."

The delay in any update over his future stems from Pogba's side of proceedings, as United have made it clear to the 28-year-old and his agent Raiola they would like to keep him.
While Pogba has been relatively quiet over his future in recent months, Raiola sent the rumour mill into overdrive with his comments over a potential switch back to Juventus recently.
"Pogba's contract expires next year. We will talk to Manchester [United] and see," he told Rai Sport.
"For sure Turin has remained in his heart and he cares a lot about these things. The possibility of returning to Juventus is there but it also depends on Juve."
