Man Utd's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dealt blow ahead of Sheffield United clash

Edinson Cavani is unlikely to be risked for Manchester United's trip to Sheffield United on Thursday, according to Ole Gunnar Solskajer.

Cavani missed United's 0-0 derby draw with local rivals Manchester City and is unlikely to be fit for the trip to Bramall Lane.

"We have to be mindful of little strains and niggles and decisions have to be made from kick-off of Sheffield United to kick-off at Aston Villa," said Solskjaer.

"So it's going to be very tight. Edinson has done well in rehab, but we still have to make the decision if we should risk him.

"It's a little bit early to risk him, so I doubt he'll be available to be picked tomorrow."

Solskjaer, under pressure himself at United after a poor start to the domestic season and exiting the Champions League, revealed his sympathy for Slaven Bilic, sacked by West Brom today.

"Well I think these times in a pandemic and what has happened has made everyone sit back and think," said Solskjaer.

"I'm very sad to hear Slaven has lost his job, he did great getting them promoted, I've known him for years and I'm sure he'll be back soon.

"Hopefully more and more clubs think long-term. It's a long-term business.

"You need short-term results, but continuity and patience is the key to success."
