Man Utd's Ethan Laird signs off by revealing favourite thing about Swansea City as he joins Bournemouth

Ethan Laird has issued a heartfelt farewell message to Swansea City following his move to Championship rivals Bournemouth.

The right wing-back became a firm favourite with the Jack Army following a string of impressive displays after joining the Swans on a season-long loan deal in the summer.

However, on Thursday afternoon, it was confirmed that Manchester United has recalled the 20-year-old prematurely before sending him back out on loan to the Cherries for the remainder of the current season.

And following his Swans exit, Laird took to social media to pay tribute to the Swansea faithful along with those who aided his development on the pitch at SA1.

"A big thank you to everyone at Swansea City," he wrote on his official Instagram account.

"I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity to play for such a big club.

"The last few months have been a privilege, I have really felt the love from the fans and the community from day one.

"You have made me feel at home and your support has been incredible.

"I want to thank Russ [Russell Martin] and the rest of the staff for their support in my development again this season. I’ve learnt so much and progressed as a player during this experience.

"One of my favourite things was hearing the fans whilst I was running down the wing I appreciate you guys so much.

"I know that this has been an important part of my journey and no matter what happens for the rest of my career, I’ll always have great memories of my time as a Jack.

"I would like to wish the lads all the best for the rest of the season! #YJB."
