Man Utd's Diogo Dalot visits 'miracle doctor' in China to solve injury problems

Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot has been in China to visit a 'miracle' Brazilian doctor in a bid to get to the bottom of his injury issues, reports AFP .

The 20-year-old was signed by Jose Mourinho last summer, with the now former United boss describing his fellow Portuguese as "the best young full-back in Europe" upon his arrival.

He would only feature six times under Mourinho though, before playing on another 17 occasions under his replacement Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss was sacked last December.

There were some suggestions that Dalot would be allowed to move on this summer following the signing of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but Solskjaer is said to still value him due to his ability to play in advanced wide positions.

However his injury issues have been a problem, and Dalot has been to see Brazilian physio Eduardo Santos at Chinese Super League club Shanghai SIPG in a bid to cure a longstanding hip problem.

French media gave Santos the nickname of the 'Miracle Doctor' back in 2015 when he managed to cure David Luiz of a hamstring injury in a much faster time than had been anticipated.

Luiz - who was then at Paris Saint-Germain - had sought out his fellow Brazilian for a diagnosis, with Santos then working at Russian side Zenit St Petersburg.

Santos is also said to have treated the likes of Radamel Falcao, Mousa Dembele and Eliaquim Mangala in the past.

Dalot arrived in China in late August and reportedly spent 10 days at Shanghai SIPG, who can currently boast the former Chelsea midfielder Oscar and his fellow Brazilian Hulk in their squad.

It is now hoped that Dalot could be available for selection again shortly after the international break.
