Man Utd's £50m target drops huge Instagram hint and Liverpool make sensational bid 'in last few hours'

These are the latest transfer stories coming out of the Premier League and further afield on Thursday, July 6

Onana's Instagram hint

Manchester United target Andre Onana has posted on Instagram dropping a big hint about his future.

United and Onana's club Inter are edging closer to agreement over a fee for the shot stopper, with the Milan side holding out for £50m.

Erik ten Hag's side have already made an offer of £39million for the Cameroon international, which was rejected by the Italian club.

Onana has hinted at a fresh start by posting a picture on Instagram of a man's feet, one in a sandal and one in a shoe with the following caption: "Every life has a story, and every story has an end... never fool anyone."

Ten Hag and Onana worked with each other during their five years together at Ajax. David de Gea looks to be leaving Old Trafford this summer, with Onana now the man likely to replace him between the sticks.

Liverpool's extraordinary offer

Reports in Spain state Liverpool have launched an extraordinary €200m bid for Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.

According to journalist Edu Aguirre, the France striker is subject of a huge offer from Jurgen Klopp's side. Real Madrid have long been linked with the 24-year-old, whose future at PSG remains shrouded in mystery. He has one year left to go on his deal in Paris.

"What has occurred in the last few hours in the offices of PSG is that an offer from Liverpool has arrived," Aguirre said via Sport Witness.

"Liverpool have entered the scene. Liverpool have made a €200m offer for Mbappe. The offer from Liverpool that has arrived in the last few hours in the offices of PSG is of €200m. Al-Khelaifi has put Mbappe up for sale."

PSG club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi said this week that Mbappe must sign a new contract if he wants to stay at Princes Park.

He said: "Our position is very clear. If Kylian Mbappe wants to stay - we want him to stay - he needs to sign a new contract. We cannot let the best player in the world right now leave for free. That is impossible."

Before he added: "This is a French club, and, as he has said, he is not planning to leave for free. If somebody has changed his mind, it is not our fault."

Arsenal star on verge of exit

Arsenal's Granit Xhaka is on the verge of completing a €25million move to Bayer Leverkusen.

The midfielder was superb for the Gunners last season and was instrumental in their title charge which ultimately fell just short.

Nevertheless, the Switzerland international looks set to leave the Emirates this summer, with Declan Rice set to come in to replace him. Mikel Arteta could yet bring in another midfielder, with question marks hanging over Thomas Partey's future in north London.

Xhaka has been pictured in Germany today, with the move to the Bundesliga set to be rubber-stamped imminently.

The 30-year-old endured a mixed relationship with the Arsenal support base, who once booed the former skipper off the field but in recent times that bond has been mended.

Brighton set Caicedo price

Brighton have told Chelsea they will have to stump up £100m if they want to land Moises Caicedo this summer.

The Ecuador midfielder has only been in the Premier League for a season but has been one of the best players in the division. Arsenal tried to tempt the Seagulls with a bid in January but owner Tony Bloom stood firm.

New Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino wants the 21-year-old as part of his new-look team but Rice's £105million move to north London has now set the benchmark, and Brighton feel Caicedo is worth £100million, especially as he is three years Rice's junior.

With N'Golo Kanté, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all leaving Stamford Bridge this summer, Chelsea are keen to recruit the Ecuadorian. But they will have to shell out a huge sum to land him.

Toon eye Chiesa

Newcastle United are set to up their attempts to sign Federico Chiesa from Juventus.

The Magpies have already recruited Sandro Tonali from Serie A and hope to make another eye-catching signing from Italy.

Corriere dello Sport state Eddie Howe's side are planning "new talks" to get the deal done, highlighting their newfound ambitions with Champions league football in the bank.

The same publication say Juve could be tempted into a sale and say relations between the clubs and representatives are harmonious.
