Man Utd 'ready to move for Moussa Dembele' after Lyon striker's transfer value declines

Manchester United will reportedly step up their interest in Moussa Dembele now that his transfer valuation has likely declined.

The global coronvirus pandemic has already had a huge financial impact on every football club on the planet, and is expected to shake-up the transfer market.

The transfer values of players will inevitably drop as clubs will have less money to spend, and be less reluctant to do so.

And it seems Manchester United - a club that has fared better than most financially during the crisis - may be looking to strike while this particular iron is hot, and make the most of the opportunity.

According to L'Equipe, via SportWitness, the Red Devils have been monitoring Dembele for quite some time despite never making a concrete bid.

The French publication claims that he is being considered as an attacking option amid the ambiguity surrounding Odion Ighalo's future at the club.

The Red Devils were preparing to pay a huge transfer fee for the Frenchman, but the report explains that this may no longer be the case.

As aforementioned, the effects of COVID-19 could see Manchester United snap up the forward for as little as £45million.

Whether Lyon would agree to this fee however remains to be seen.

But the Red Devils are in a good position after Ligue 1 was cancelled and Lyon missed out on European football for next season.
