Man Utd Predicted Lineup vs. Brentford: Cunha Returns to Form Fab Front Three

Manchester United had their feet up while the midweek Carabao Cup and Europa League action unfolded, but the Red Devils’ abundance of free weeks should serve Ruben Amorim’s side well as the Premier League season progresses.

United are getting healthier on the injury front, and a victory over Chelsea last weekend means a few smiles have returned to a fanbase that’s started to teeter towards nihilism.

Back-to-back Premier League wins is their sole focus at the Gtech this weekend, as they face a Brentford side that have won just one of their five league outings under new manager Keith Andrews.

Here’s how Amorim could set the Red Devils up in west London at Saturday lunchtime.

GK: Altay Bayındır—Amorim is likely to retain the Turkish international between the posts, but it does feel like Bayındır is an error away from losing his place to Senne Lammens.

CB: Leny Yoro—The young defender has enjoyed an excellent start to the season, and it was a surprise to see him on the bench last weekend. Amorim is likely to welcome Yoro back into his team on Saturday, primarily for his recovery pace against the speedy Kevin Schade.

CB: Matthijs de Ligt—If Yoro returns, there’s only room for one of De Ligt and Harry Maguire. The boss has so far preferred the former.

CB: Luke Shaw—Amorim has laid out why United miss Lisandro Martínez so much, and he could be back in action soon. Shaw stays in for now, though.

RWB: Diogo Dalot—The Portuguese international may come straight back into the starting XI, having been out of action since the international break. United are without Noussair Mazraoui and Amad Diallo.

CM: Manuel Ugarte—Casemiro’s suspension means there has to be a change in midfield, and Ugarte is the most likely candidate to replace the Brazilian.

CM: Bruno Fernandes—While Fernandes’ vulnerabilities in a deeper midfield position have become clear this term, Amorim has persisted with him in the role. He inspired United’s victory over Chelsea last weekend, scoring the opener.

LWB: Patrick Dorgu—Diogo Dalot has returned from injury and could soon offer Dorgu respite, but the Portuguese might not be ready for a start this weekend.

AM: Bryan Mbeumo—Mbeumo returns to his old stomping ground on Saturday, and although there’s hardly any animosity with his former employers, you fancy the Cameroonian to have a productive outing here, given how he’s started the season.

AM: Matheus Cunha—The Brazilian returned from injury last Saturday and could be back in Man Utd’s starting XI at the Gtech. He’s yet to find the back of the net for his new club.
