Manchester United will have to seriously consider cashing in on David De Gea next summer if he continues to stall over a new deal.

Though his contract expires in summer 2019, United are set to trigger a further 12-month option.

United had hoped De Gea would commit to a new long-term deal before now, but the player's ambitions are understood to be behind his reluctance to put pen to paper at Old Trafford.

Dea Gea has just one Premier League title to show for seven years in Manchester despite being regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Meanwhile, Anthony Martial, Andreas Pereira, Antonio Valencia, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Matteo Darmian are all entering the final months of their deals.

As with De Gea, United have a 12-month option for each but are yet to confirm if those will be triggered.

Jose Mourinho has also told the club he wants new deals for Juan Mata and Ander Herrera.

The pair are also out of contract next summer – but Mourinho has advised executive vice chairman Ed Woodward to offer new terms to two players who are now considered fringe members of his squad.

Ashley Young is the final member of the squad entering the last months of his current deal.
