Man Utd players 'not happy with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's latest decision on naming captain'

The Manchester United players were not entirely happy with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's decision to name Axel Tuanzebe captain against Rochdale, according to reports.

The decision was met with raised eyebrows outside the Red Devils' changing room, as the Norwegian had opted against handing the armband to Paul Pogba.

World Cup winner Pogba has previously captained United. He is also older and far more experienced than Tuanzebe, who was on loan at Aston Villa last season.

And it seems that it wasn't just eyebrows that were raised on the other side of the United changing, as Red Devils players were allegedly unsure about Solskjaer's decision too.

According to the Daily Mail, the decision was not met with 'universal approval'.

It was claimed that Solskjaer named Tuanzebe captain for sentimental reasons as he grew up in Rochdale as a child after moving to the town from DR Congo.

What's more, Tuanzebe has captained the Red Devils at every age group, including now the senior team, and has ambitions to get the gig permanently.

"Leadership is something that I admire in players," said Tuanzebe ahead of the game. "I've said in the past that I want to be United captain one day and I stand by that."
