Manchester United have begun their preparations for Sunday's crunch trip to Everton .

United were knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona in midweek in what was their fifth defeat in seven games.

The honeymoon period is certainly over for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, whose focus now turns to securing a top four place.

United sit sixth with five games to go and now face a crucial week, starting with the trip to Goodison Park.

Solskjaer's men welcome rivals City to Old Trafford in the Manchester derby on Wednesday before the visit of top four rivals Chelsea .

United's players arrived at Carrington on Thursday morning with Solskjaer boosted by the return of Luke Shaw.

The England left-back was suspended for the clash at the Nou Camp but will come straight into the starting line-up.

Nemanja Matic will also be hopeful of a recall after being named on the bench against Barca, as will Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku left Everton for United in the summer of 2018 and was ruled out of last season's clash at Goodison Park.

He could come back into Solskjaer's starting line-up with Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez also hoping to be involved from the start.
