Man Utd player Timothy Fosu-Mensah gives injury update on Instagram

Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah has provided an update on his recovery from a knee injury as he continues his rehabilitation at the club's training ground.

Fosu-Mensah returned to United to begin his recovery in April after undergoing knee ligament surgery following an injury he sustained while on loan at Fulham.

The 21-year-old posted a short clip on his Instagram account which showed him going through exercises to improve his knee's mobility.

Fosu-Mensah made 13 appearances while on-loan at Craven Cottage this season, with the club relegated back to the Championship after just one year in the Premier League.

The Netherlands under-21 international spent large periods out of the team, and apologised for his underwhelming showings at the season's end.

"I want to apologise to all the amazing fans and say I’m sorry I couldn’t help keep the club up this season," he said.

"We did all we could but it just wasn’t enough. It’s a fantastic club and I know you will be back in the premier league very soon."

Upon his return to Old Trafford in April a club statement from United wished the Dutch defender well on his road to recovery: "Everyone at the club wishes Tim well with his recovery."
