Man Utd new adidas kit 'will look like Juventus' next season as part of retro re-design

Paul Pogba may feel like he is back in Italy next season as his Manchester United side look set to play in a similar shirt to that of the Frenchman's former side Juventus in away games.

According to the Sun United will wear black and white stripes for their away shirt next season, which will look similar to that of the famous Serie A side's home strip.

United last wore the colours in the 1978/80 seasons, where a predominantly white shirt contained three black stripes running down from the left shoulder.

It will see yet another radical change in the colour scheme of the away shirt. While United have worn their famous red for home matches since the mid-1920s, in recent times they have experimented with white, grey, cream, blue and pink-coloured away shirts, with this season's effort a black number.

Nothing is confirmed as yet, and adidas and United have both refused to comment on speculation, but with both club and kit sponsors often deciding on future designs more than a year ahead of them going on sale, it is likely the designs for the kit have at least been discussed by the manufacturer.

Whether the shirt will have an impact on Pogba's form and desire to stay at Old Trafford remains to be seen.

The 26-year-old expressed his desire to leave the club this summer, with reported interest from both Juventus and Real Madrid , but unless there is a late, late bid on Monday from a European club he looks set to remain at Manchester at least for now.

The French international has had a mixed start to the new Premier League season.

He created two assists in United's opening day 4-0 win against Chelsea , but missed a penalty in their next 1-1 draw against Wolves and has received some criticism for his performance during another 1-1 draw against Southampton on Saturday.
