Here are latest Premier League transfer news headlines and rumours on Tuesday, October 13.
The Man Utd deal for wonderkid
Manchester United's £36m capture of Amad Diallo Traore was a year in the making, it has been revealed.
The teenager will join United in January after agreeing a deal in the summer transfer window.
He is seen as one of the hottest prospects in world football, with United thrashing out a complex deal for the 18-year-old.
Atalanta president Antonio Percassi told L’Eco di Bergamo revealed the full details of the deal, saying: “The negotiation with Manchester United lasted almost a year.
“The details and scenarios are crazy. Meeting after meeting we learned unimaginable things.
“This leads to the growth of the club and enriches the work of everyone, from the general manager, Umberto Marino, to the entire staff.”
Percassi added: “A few days after the Youth League game against Manchester City, the other Manchester contacted us.
“They had followed him, the real negotiation started. We went twice to England. The text of the final agreement is a contractual masterpiece.
“The professionals involved in the operation are of a high level. In terms of negotiations, we have learned a lot.
“And it is above all thanks to Luca’s (Percassi, Atalanta CEO) work that we arrived at the final figures. It was an operation we couldn't refuse.
“If the boy becomes great, we will have recognition for a long time. If he's not lucky, we're protected.”
Rodon deal questioned
Darren Bent has questioned why Tottenham Hotspur are trying to sign Joe Rodon from Swansea City.
Appearing on talkSPORT, the former Spurs striker laughed when he heard that his old club’s opening offer for the centre-back was £11m less than Swansea’s £18m asking price.
Bent went on to argue that Spurs are already healthily positioned when it comes to defenders.
“I thought you were going to say something like he offered £5 less,” Bent laughed.
“But listen, they seem really keen on getting him, don’t they? Rodon in the door. You look at the amount of centre-backs they have.
"I know they lost Vertonghen. But they have Toby Alderweireld, Sanchez, Eric Dier plays back there and Tanganga can play there.
“I mean, how many centre-backs are they looking for?”
Manchester United players back Pogba
The MEN report that Paul Pogba has been backed by Manchester United’s dressing room despite admitting he wants to play for Real Madrid.
After previously stating his desire to move to the Bernabeu in March 2019, the French midfielder has once again expressed his desire to join Real Madrid.
Whilst Pogba’s teammates previously felt it was best he be allowed to leave United due to his desire to play elsewhere, the midfielder’s form after the coronavirus suspension has reportedly left those in the dressing room feeling that the 27-year-old should now stay at Old Trafford.
Moise Kean claim
Reports in France claim PSG do have a purchase option in their loan deal for Everton’s Moise Kean.
After a disappointing first season at Everton, Kean joined the French champions on a season-long loan.
French magazine France Football state that PSG have negotiated an option to buy Kean for €20m - €10m less than the Toffees paid for the young Italian in 2019.
Rose offer
Football Insider claim that Danny Rose could be in line for a move to the Championship.
The former Newcastle United loanee is out of favour under Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur and was linked with moves abroad this summer.
Yet nothing came to fruition and his only option now is a move to the Championship.
Middlesbrough are said to be close to making an ambitious loan bid for the 30-year-old, who may well be open to dropping down a division in order to gain first-team football.
