The England international often leads Utd's counter-attacks with his blistering pace, but he instead had to contend with something that was not as rapid.
The 26-year-old as seen hitching a ride on the iconic Coca-Cola Christmas Truck with the countdown to December 25 well and truly on.
Lingard charted his trip in the lorry on his Instagram account, uploading clips of himself in the cab of the vehicle and of it pulling away with the legendary Coca-Cola theme tune playing in the background.
The Utd playmaker appeared in a chipper mood throughout the journey and he certainly had reason to be positive following a great week for his team in the Premier League.
After overcoming former boss Jose Mourinho and his Tottenham team last week, the Red Devils then claimed bragging rights with a superb 2-1 win at Manchester rivals City on Saturday.
Th 26-year-old played a key role in both of those successes and revealed that he was feeling like he was getting back to the top of his form.
"I feel good, I feel back to myself, I feel fit, I feel sharp. I love working for the team, I love winning games and playing matches," he told Sky Sports.
"People go through dips in form, it's just about finding the right balance and getting back to your usual self which I have.
"Of course you're frustrated when you're not playing. You've still got to have the right attitude and right mentality when you do go on and try to make an impact."
Lingard certainly has made an impact for Utd in recent weeks, giving the attacker the chance to rightfully enjoy his trip in the legendary Coca-Cola Truck.
